JOINING PEF RETIREES
Membership in the
PEF Retirees is open to all NYS employees who retired out of PEF
but it is also open to all other NYS public service retirees and
their spouses as well as all active PEF members who are within
five (5) years of their normal retirement age.
Initial enrollment dues are
currently $18 for the first year. Membership is by the year and
membership renewal remains at $18/year if paid through
pension-check deduction but is $21/year if paid in cash or by
check ($18 dues + $3 check/cash processing fee). The $3
surcharge is to cover the extra cost of renewal reminder
mailings and check/cash processing. Membership is begun by the
payment of the initial
enrollment dues, accompanied by a completed enrollment
form. Enrollment forms can be obtained from the PEF Retiree
office or this web site at Retirees Application Form.
To remain active,
dues must be paid each year. Failure to maintain active status
will result in being cancelled out of any programs in which you
are currently enrolled.
Please complete the enrollment card and return it with a check
for the initial enrollment dues ($18.00), payable to the PEF
Retirees.
